Otokar, a Koç Group company, has been providing solutions special to the needs of the customers with its own technology, design and applications since 1963. It is operating with over 2000 employees at the factory built on a land of 552,000 m2 in Sakarya.

Otokar, Turkey’s pinoeer manufacturer of commercial vehicles and defense industry products, produces buses and light trucks in the commercial vehicles segment, and a variety of tactical wheeled and tracked armored vehicles and turret systems for the defense industry at its Sakarya plant.

In the commercial vehicles segment, Otokar has the broadest bus product portfolio in Turkey ranging to 21 meters. Otokar maintains its title as the bestselling bus brand in Turkey in the total of its segments.

With numerous firsts to its name since its inception, Otokar carries out R&D activities in world standards. In the last decade, the company has allocated 8 percent of its revenues for R&D expenditures. The company currently continues to work on alternative fuel vehicles and has already introduced Turkey’s first hybrid bus and first electric bus to the market.

Otokar also produces Otokar Atlas, a light truck with 8.5-ton gross vehicle weight under license.

Otokar is one of the 61 companies included in Borsa Istanbul's Sustainability Index for the last 6 years with its environmental, social and governance studies.

In line with Koç Holding's 2050 Carbon Neutral Program on climate change and emissions management, Otokar carries out studies such as alternative fuel vehicles, energy efficiency and green purchasing.

Otokar also adopts the United Nations Global Compact, of which Koç Holding is a signatory, and UN Women's Women's Empowerment Principles.
